Home Skin Care Remedies For Cuts, Burns And Bruises
The need for home skin care remedies is essential when there is a minor injury in the home that may not need hospitalization but do need attention. Caring for our skin should be one of our priorities since this is our first line of defense against sickness and other ailments. Many home skin care remedies are home made skin care solutions from botanicals while some are medical solutions that are included in standard first aid treatments.
Cuts And Scrapes
Cuts and scrapes are common injuries that happen in the home. Medical treatments for these are usually antiseptic and antibiotic solutions to discourage inflammation and infection. Home skin care solutions may include fresh yarrow leaves, mixture of lavender and tea tree oil and fresh-pounded garlic. Yarrow leaves can be crushed or bruised in the hand and then applied or pressed on the scrape or minor wound for a few minutes.
The mixture of lavender and tea tree oil is a wound wash composed of half a cup of water mixed with five drops of tea tree oil and five drops of lavender. This home skin care solution can be used to swab the wound or scrape to get rid of bacteria and other harmful impurities. This home skin care solution is great for minor wounds but deep puncture wounds may need a doctor’s attention. Garlic is usually used to disinfect a slight wound. One or two cloves of garlic is crushed and then applied to the scrape or wound as a home skin care solution.
